Team

We’re a small, close-knit team that feels more like a family than a clinic.  You might see our kids or dogs around, hear laughter down the hall, or be invited to make yourself a cup of coffee or tea.  Our space is designed to feel like stepping into a friend’s home — calm, welcoming, and human — where you’re known, supported, and never just a number.

Dani Dupuis

MSN, APRN, NP-C, Co-Founder, Co-Owner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Co-Host, A Curious Rebel Storycast.

Born and raised in the PNW, I’ve always felt most at home outdoors—whether backpacking, kayaking, or mountain biking with our blended family: my husband, Joel, and our four kids.

I earned my BSN from OHSU in 2007 and my MSN from Gonzaga University in 2015.

After years in acute care (mostly ICU) and then primary care, I began to question the limits of traditional healthcare—where time is short, answers are often simplified, and the deeper layers of what shapes our health go unexplored.  In 2016, Joel and I founded Phoenix Rising Family Medicine to create a more human-centered approach to care, grounded in relationship, curiosity, and authenticity.

Today, I’m the co-host of A Curious Rebel Storycast, where I explore the intersection of lived experience, the body, and the patterns that shape how we think, feel, and live.  Through storytelling, I’m drawn to the biology of trauma, the messy, nonlinear nature of healing, and the power of raw, honest conversations.  It’s a space where all parts of the human experience are welcome — and where curiosity gently challenges the stories we tell ourselves… and opens the door to something new.

Joel Dupuis

MSN, APRN, PMHNP, Co-Founder, Co-Owner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

My path to mental health advocacy has been deeply personal. As a former Navy Corpsman with the First Battalion Eighth Marines, I have navigated the turbulent waters of PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and ADHD. Once perceived as personal failings, these challenges catalyzed my healing and growth.

I've witnessed the despair of untreated mental illness and the profound difference that a shift in perspective and treatment approach can make.

Kira Biron

MSN, APRN, NP-C, Co-Owner, Family Nurse Practitioner

My desire to become a Nurse practitioner started in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where I was a bedside nurse for almost 10 years. As a Staff Nurse in the ICU, Resource Nurse to my peers, and Rapid Response Nurse for the entire hospital,  I have seen firsthand how chronic disease and lifestyle choices affect patients and their families.

My experience, coupled with my passion, has brought me right where I want to be.

Leah Burkhart

Co-Owner, Health Coach, Co-Host, A Curious Rebel Storycast

A big hello!
I'm Leah, and I'm so glad you're here. The Burnout Clinic was born from a lot of lessons won the hard way. More than once…I have crashed and burned-out in a big way (more than once) from juggling WAY too much in a body that didn’t respond well to hustle culture. I wasn’t just tired—I was done. But instead of giving up, I got curious.

What I learned (through coaching, research, and a lot of personal trial and error) is that energy isn’t just about sleep or spinach smoothies. It’s about boundaries. Nourishment. Meaning. Movement. Pleasure. Stillness. It’s about remembering who you are when you’re not just trying to survive. My goal is to help other women use these same tools to get their energy back without having to learn them the hard way.

When I’m not busy at our clinic …you’ll find me outside (probably with my pups) nerding out on podcasts and audiobooks. Or else you’ll find me in the kitchen. I love to cook…and I love to eat!

Lisa Nechanicky

Office Manager

I have over 23 years of experience in a variety of roles within the medical field, including pharmacy technician work, medical billing, insurance prior authorizations, scheduling, care coordination and many more patient/provider support roles.

My background allows me to support both patients and our team with efficiency, organization, and compassion.I take great pride in helping create a positive experience for every patient and in being part of a team that provides high-quality care to our community.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Clayton, and our two children, Ethan and Sighni.

We have a large extended family and strive to spend as much time together making as may memories as possible! I have a passion for creativity and love working with my hands—whether that’s general crafting, painting, photography, beading, sewing, crochet, or baking. In the warmer months, I enjoy being outdoors hiking, kayaking, rockhounding, gardening, and camping. I grew up in Gold Beach, Oregon, and spent 16 years in Montana before returning to Oregon, where I’m proud to serve the community I call home.

Chelsea Kehoe

Office Assistant

I grew up on the Oregon Coast but have called the Salem area home for the past 15 years. My husband, Kevin, and I have been happily married since 2010, and together we’ve raised four amazing children — Braden, Kaeden, Cadence, and Korrin — all now grown and pursuing their own paths.

Outside of work, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my family and my Clydesdale, Remmy. Trail riding with him is one of my favorite ways to unwind and enjoy nature. My family and I love camping, riding dirt bikes and horses, hunting, and pretty much anything that gets us outdoors. Family is truly the heart of everything I do!

Beau Biron

BS civil engineering, Co-Owner, Administration

I was born and raised in Oregon and married my high school sweetheart, Kira. Together, we have two wonderful daughters and enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors, cheering on the Ducks, and making memories as a family.

Professionally, I work as an Engineering Project Manager for Brown Contracting, where I focus on organization, coordination, and problem-solving. While I don’t come from a medical background, I joined Phoenix Rising Family Medicine as a co-owner with Kira in 2020 and enjoy supporting the clinic behind the scenes through administrative coordination and operational support.

I am grateful to be part of a team that is dedicated to serving our community and helping people live healthier lives.
